Huaxin Cement begins Zafarabad plant build in Uzbekistan

China’s Huaxin Cement Co Ltd has started construction on the 1.2Mta cement plant in Zafarabad district, Jizzakh region in Uzbekistan. Output from the plant is expected to be 480,000t of M400 Portland cement and 720,000Mt of M500 cement with 10 per cent of volumes earmarked for export. LafargeHolcim’s Indian subsidiary ACC Ltd reported an 8.5 per cent rise in cement deliveries in 2018 to 28.4Mt and in the fourth quarter the advance was 8.7 per cent to 7.5Mt. Cement capacity increased by 5.9Mta thanks to a new greenfield operation in Madhya Pradesh and a new grinding plant in Uttar Pradesh as well as expansions to the plants in Tikaria and Sindri. Huaxin Cement announces new Uzbekistan project

Huaxin Cement has announced that it will construct a new cement plant in Uzbekistan, with government approval already received. The company has set up a new venture, Huaxin Cement Jizzakh, for the implementation of the 1.2Mta facility. The plans will see the plant built in Zafarobod, Jizzakh, at an investment cost of US$150m, with the company expecting to spend US$78m to purchase equipment.
